Optimized the text selection and copy feature for a smoother selection and copying experience.
Added a save backup and recovery system. If save data becomes corrupted or abnormal, the system will attempt to automatically restore it from a backup.
Steam Cloud Save is now enabled by default. After exiting the game, please wait for Steam to finish uploading your save data before closing the Steam client to avoid sync issues.
Added a search box to the question-answering interface, allowing you to search clue names and find relevant clues more easily.
Fixed several known program bugs and story logic issues.
The English translation has been comprehensively improved. If you encounter any translation issues, please feel free to report them in the community.

After the original project lead of CaseCracker went missing, Chairman Ge Meiling personally invited me to take over the project. To be honest, although the terms she offered were indeed very generous, I wasn't particularly interested at first.
What truly changed my mind was not the money, but the cases.
While reviewing the existing materials for CaseCracker, I noticed that some of the cases involved details that closely overlapped with several urban legends I had been investigating recently.
For a long time, these stories had been dismissed as rumors, coincidences, or tales deliberately fabricated by certain people. But if they really are just legends, then why have they appeared so frequently in clues connected to different cases across Chicheng over the past two years?
I do not believe that a series of abnormal signs appearing one after another in such a short period of time can be mere coincidence.
I suspect that behind these so-called "urban legends" lies something unknown.
To me, this is not merely a project handover, but an opportunity to continue digging deeper.

To provide a better detective experience for our players, we are officially retranslating the entirety of Case Cracker 1 and Case Cracker 2.
Complete Overhaul: We are revising all story text, character dialogues, and intricate clues to correct previous inaccuracies and awkward phrasing.
Unified Terminology: As the trilogy forms one continuous narrative, the retranslated versions will use the exact same terminology system as Case Cracker 3.
Quality of Life Improvements: Along with the text update, we are implementing minor functional and UI optimizations to the first two titles. (Note: Core gameplay and story content remain unchanged).
Release Schedule:The retranslated versions of Case Cracker 1 & 2 will be launched simultaneously with Case Cracker 3.
We sincerely apologize for the localization issues in the original English versions of the first two games. Thank you for your patience and for being part of this journey with us.

While sorting through these cases, the police discovered clues related to "404" — the leader of a cult — and reported the information to their superiors immediately. Upon learning this news, Detective Wang Xun took the initiative to apply for a posting to Chicheng for the investigation, vowing to apprehend "404" and bring them to justice.
