We are excited to announce that the Blimps 2.4.0 Major Update will be released on Saturday, 12/13/25. This latest release includes several cool new features to enhance your Blimps experience.
Key additions in this update include:
- The Captain's Log: A new collection of tabbed folders that provides detailed explanations of inventory items and tracks your main and side mission progress.
- Magic Modes in-flight Pop-up menu: Players can now transform their Blimps into three new temporary flying modes: Invisible, Tiny, and Beast. This pop-up mode selection can be triggered by pressing L1 or the "L1" button on the world HUD. The magic modes can be found and picked up around the world.
- Revised Gamepad Controls: The gamepad cursor now moves smoothly around each room using the left joystick, and the select button for the crosshairs has been changed to the "A" button.
- Demolition of Dart Mart: We've removed the Dart Mart and the Homing Dart cannons and replaced them with a new store called Peek-a-Boom that sells the Vulture Weather Scope bad weather radar.
- Vulture Weather Scope (VWS): Players can now trigger the radar scope that detects bad weather by pressing R3 or using the radar button on the world HUD.
- New Tractor Beam: This feature allows players to grab certain types of loot while flying around the world by holding down the "B" button or pressing the "T" button on the world HUD.
- Enhanced Flight Control: Players can now freely fly around the world without automatically landing at all the ports. To land at each port, you must hold down the "A" button or press the "Land" button. However, you will still encounter bad weather, which makes the new triggerable VWS radar scope invaluable for locating it.
**Due to the significant changes in this update, you may need to start a new game. If you experience game crashes, starting fresh can resolve them. We have playtested the latest version, and it runs smoothly and without crashes when a new game is initiated. However, please let us know if you encounter any problems. We are committed to delivering a seamless, bug-free gameplay experience.
