Hi :) The game is now working again! I'm so sorry for not having seen this earlier. What happened is that the URL associated with the db no longer exists. I switched everything to a new URL and added some performance improvements to the game. Peace & Love, Patrick

Hi! :) The game now displays the correct font as seen in the store pictures! This is rather embarrassing lol I always had a feeling I forgot something important. Turns out it was to embed the fonts in the game. 😬 Thank you very much to mugwumpt for making me aware of this issue!

I fixed a bug that would only show you newly accepted confessions when starting the game for the second time after I had approved new confessions.
Luckily I caught this today already and it will only concern a few people. So, if you've played Confessions yesterday, started it up again today and saw the prompt "x new confessions available" before this patch was released it would be best to delete all files in this folder:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Confessions
This means you will encounter some of the previously read confessions again. I apologize for the inconvenience.
I've also added a few simple achievements for reading confessions since I figured people would be asking for it anyways. ^^

Confessions was the logical follow-up to my first game TOMORROW DON'T COME (TDC) for me. After sharing my story, I now give you a platform to share yours.
The idea for Confessions had been born about 7 years ago but all the prototypes had failed because my vision had been too complicated. Eventually I stripped the core idea of allowing players to share their stories way back to only text, which goes so well with how I went about with TDC.
At first I wanted to release Confessions for free, but there was already a large amount of spam during the open Playtest phase, where everyone who'd stumble upon the game would get granted access. I really didn't want to imagine how much more that would be when the game is fully available since I'm moderating all new confessions. Hence I decided to go with a low price tag of $2.99.

I've also fixed quite a few bugs, added a cooldown after confessing and completely rewrote the save system for more stability.
Please let me know about any bugs you encounter or feedback you may have here.
If everything just explodes, deleting the following folder should solve all problems: C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/Confessions

Could you please (after downloading the latest update) delete the following folder and then start the game again. Let me know if you still experience the crash. I couldn't reproduce it on my end but I hope I found all potential causes for it.

I fixed a few little things this morning:
"We hear you... start typing." can no longer be accidentally submitted as a confession.
It's no longer possible to click the "next page"-button after submitting a confession without having filled up the whole page.
Fixed a bug where the "submit"-button would stay grey after switching pages.
Added the option to press ESC to got back to the title screen.
Out of the 150 people who have now access to the playtest, 7 confessions have been submitted. We are gonna need a lot more confessions before this can be released. So be prepared for the game to be released a bit later than December most probably.
