Hello, Explorers!
First of all, we want to thank you. You who have played and supported Outerstellar throughout the years and different iterations of the game. Your presence in the community means the world to us.
When we originally launched Outerstellar, we didn’t think about marketing or Steam Algorithms; we just built a game that we loved and wanted to share it with players as soon as possible. And we were thrilled to see a dedicated player base form around our game. But the reality of game development is that you need more people and players to see your game to be truly successful, and we were already buried by the Steam algorithm. Still, we persisted, updating and overhauling the game throughout the years. But this year we decided to stop and think. And we realized that our game, and its community, deserve a proper fresh start.
That’s why we’re incredibly excited to announce our next big step: Outerstellar Aura.
This is a brand-new version of the game that builds upon the foundation of Outerstellar and what you already love about the game.
There are some new things that we can reveal already:
A New Sci-Fi Look: We want Outerstellar Aura to feel truly futuristic, so most of the aesthetics of the game have been refined to fit this, including new elements and some that you already know from Outerstellar.
New Threats: While PvP remains in the game, we want the PvE elements to not just be there, but to offer something truly unique and encourage co-op play, so you can expect new combat challenges and some BIG threats that you might need some help with from others on the server.
Better Beginnings: We wanted to improve the New Player Experience, so they’re better introduced to the game’s mechanics and biomes.

We didn’t start this text by thanking every member of our community and then just moving on. We want to make sure that you’re taken care of as we sunset Outerstellar and transition the player base to Outerstellar Aura.
Outerstellar Aura is free for our supporters. Long-standing players of Outerstellar will receive access to Outerstellar Aura completely for free. This will be a manual process, and we’re just a few people, so it will take some time, but we want to do right by you
You will also get exclusive access to the Outerstellar Aura playtests and builds when we begin sharing them. We’re eager to hear your feedback on the new version of the game that we built together.
Once Outerstellar Aura passes the Steam verifications, we will start the process of sunsetting the original Outerstellar, but not before you get access to the new game.
