In co-op/waves hard mode, cars now extend time after a wave only if you manage to destroy them. The previous setup, where time is extended after every wave, can be accessed by harpooning the green car in the bottom left. Angry eyebrows means hard mode! Also updated the pause scre
-Fixed a case where the boss didn’t get to phase 2, and also changed the timing on how cars come in at this point -Adjusted boss health for 1p based on feedback, and will encounter boundary wrap phase -Boss will no longer die from a hot car toss
Parkin' Panic now has a monster truck boss at the end of waves co-op. I'll go into it more in a video at some point, but for now I don't want to spoil it. Thanks for your support during Carpoon's first year! -Tom
Pause screen now appears much faster by using an image buffer instead of a saved screenshot. Should make the biggest difference in 4K. Thanks for the feedback! Some small updates from working on a monster truck boss and updating GameMaker Studio 2 to the latest version.
Santa and cheese hats: Harpoon Scarlet's blue shoes on the right side of the player select lobby to get them! Dynamic camera set back to the default setting. Static camera is still an option in the settings. Hats now scale properly on jumps
Carpoon is only $5 Canadian this week (45% off) in the Games from Vancouver Steam Sale ! Honoured to be a part of it with tons of other fantastic indie games, be sure to take a look and check them out along with the demos there. A big THANK YOU to everyone who has picked up Carpo
From playtest feedback, I created a stationary fixed-position camera option that can be found in the settings. Carpoon's default camera is dynamic, and zooms in and out, but a few players find that camera motion too to be much, or the levels can show up fine on a large TV.
Fullscreen/Window option button now in settings. Alt+Enter still works too. L+A button changed to hold A/space on the end screen. You can still use L+A to skip it immediately. Reduced the time until the countdown starts by 1 second Added a button to return to the title screen in
Player select screen fits on ultrawides: Drew wider player select screen art & all the options stay in view on ultrawides now at 2560x1080 and 3440x1440 Player feedback: Player select screen - LB button or space/right mouse can now cycle through time, lives and paint options
I fixed the objective/tutorial and pause menu sizing for 4K & ultrawide resolutions. 4K from a desktop was something I overlooked as I had been focused on Steam Deck output to TVs. Work continues on ultrawide support as I'll adjust the player select area and the level camera
Carpoon is out! I'm excited to say that Carpoon is finally at "1.0" and out. After playing it during development for years with friends, I'm still somewhat speechless that this day has come. 1-4 Players in Co-op or Versus Carpoon has waves mode for 1-player, and is best in a mult
Carpoon has evolved a lot since its original demo! Try out the new demo with: • Parkin’ Panic graphics refresh & geyser jumps • Steam Deck & 1440p support • Player position & colours save after each round • New camera system • Semi-secret cameo hat • Lots of QoL impro
I recently finished Carpoon’s second last milestone to more clearly show objectives before matches. One more to go! Here's my devlog on implementing the objectives and other recent changes: And I did add a setting to skip the objectives once you are used to them Other Updates • H
Finished another major milestone recently by rebuilding Carpoon’s camera! It was a feature requested by several players to remove some constant shakes it had. These shakes happened while trying to zoom in or out to keep players in view, or so I thought. -Used YellowAfterlife’s mu
Carpoon recently had its first tournament as a mystery game at LTX 2023. Thank you to my friends for the countless hours they helped test Carpoon, to LTX for the opportunity, and to all the tournament players! Fixed before the tournament, there was a semi-rare hard crash while ha
Here's a video covering a huge chunk of progress on Carpoon's Autoworks level, and going over the solution to make curved conveyor belts that didn't have to be from scratch. Plus using GMLive helped speed up things, and I touch on what's left to finish Carpoon.
Probably adding the hotdog cart to more levels shouldn’t have been at the top of my list of features to add. In this video, I go over some things I should have avoided, and also an Autoworks update!
I finished adding Waves/Co-op mode to Carpoon's Volcarnage Island! Completely my silly idea of cars on surfboards wasn't as easy as I thought thanks to adding paths for them to follow. At this point, there are a couple of tweaks still needed for this level but I'll mostly be movi
