A battery of 88-millimeter Flak guns firing direct fire at the enemy.
During the Africa campaign, German troops were facing British Matilda II heavy tanks, which posed a serious threat as their armor was too tough for the majority of anti-tank guns at the beginning of the war.
General Erwin Rommel, also known as “Desert Fox” commanding his troops at Tobruk.
However, Rommel knew how to deal with those Matilda tanks. During the invasion of France, his troops already faced such adversary and learned that the 88-military Anti-aircraft Flak guns proved to be very effective against heavily armored targets.
