Hello again, Lightbringers!
Last week we shared with you a few tricks and tips to help you better understand the controls in the game and know your stuff to make the most out of Empire of Ember (check it out here if you missed it!).
So here you are a few more! Using these at the right time can save your day.
ARMY MANAGEMENT
- New recruits are drawn from your population resource. Increase the number of units you can bring in your army by leveling up, training leadership, or building farms. Also, find and help villages in order to recruit idle villagers, otherwise you will eventually run out of men!
- Assign unit loadouts on the army management screen. Blunt weapons are good general-purpose weapons while slash weapons are good against living units. Heavy shields provide more protection but result in slow movement and slow stamina recovery.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Non-undead units left behind to train will gain a small amount of XP per day. Eventually a plus sign will appear and you can pay to level them to a better unit. You can level up your army faster with the training enchantment, but only units that survive will benefit.
- If you are concerned about your city coming under siege, try recruiting extra units to leave behind in the garrison. You will be defeated if enemies are successful in destroying your wizard tower, or if you are knocked out too many times during a siege battle. Strength in numbers!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- The leadership attribute lets you save units from death, ready to fight again the next battle. This can be helpful for recruiting high-level armies at low cost.
KNOW YOUR ENEMY
- At higher difficulty levels enemies build up their strength based on days passed, becoming more aggressive, higher level, and appearing in larger numbers.
- Also at higher difficulties, enemies may steal your equipment if you are defeated. If applicable, you may cast the contingency enchantment before resting in your tower to prevent this.

- Enemies that are aware of you will constantly shout, alerting their nearby allies.
- You can usually recover lost equipment by defeating the enemies who took it from you.
BUFF!
- Berzerk increases damage, attack speed, and move speed. However, your indiscriminate attacks also fully damage allies.

- Enhance your equipment further with set bonuses, by equipping multiple rings that provide the same benefit.
SPELLS
- Casting spells tires you out, inflicting mana burn. This reduces how much mana you have for the rest of the level.
- If you see a purple crystal while inside your wizard tower, this means you have enough ember to research or upgrade a spell.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Basic mana bolts from your staff apply a slight slow status on enemies, which can be used for defense or to bunch up enemies.
- Single out enemies in a melee with chain lightning. It will jump between nearby enemy targets.

- Entropy does not just break objects, it explodes them. Try using breakable objects as traps.
- Upgrade your telekinesis spell to pull weapons from enemy hands. However this won't work against bosses or enemies that do not carry weapons.
- While carrying an object with telekinesis, right click (default) to cancel the spell and place the object on the ground, at no mana cost. This can be used to setup traps.
- Telekinesis can pick up knocked down enemies, which can be used for a variety of purposes.

ECONOMY AND CITY MANAGEMENT
- Build multiple markets to increase how many goods are available for purchase each day.
- Sell gems and unwanted items at villages, or by building a market.

THE DUNGEON SECRETS
- Search carefully while in dungeons. You may find secret rooms!
- Deeper levels of dungeons sometimes have rooms where you can rest and recover health.
