Hi everyone and welcome back to a new dev update!
Last time we talked about bullets and how they can be planted and farmed.
As you might remember, blood is required for them to grow, and leaving the safety of your home to venture into Century City is the only way to acquire such a precious resource.
Taking To The Streets
Armed with courage and some of the weapons, bullets, and items obtained during the previous expeditions, you reach for the button to call the lift that will take you to the streets.
Only a brief wait separates you from the action, just enough for the matchmaker to find other players to join the hunt.
As the doors of the lift opens, you find yourself in one of the alleys, disoriented, unaware of your exact location in the city. You don’t know how many Others you will encounter either, you only know that, within the depths of this ever-changing city, scarce resources lie around, Things roam every corner looking for fresh blood and bizarre merchants try to make profits out of an economy based on slaughter.
You start exploring your surroundings, trying to familiarise yourself with the place you were taken to. You know you need to be able to get back to your lift once the time’s up or you’d die a terrible death, so you pay attention to every possible cue in order to be able to retrace your steps.
Dying would mean losing everything you have taken with you when you left your home, leaving all of that on the ground for Others to plunder. It would also mean losing all the physical and mental improvements achieved.
Fortunately, though, death is not the end.
Your Adam will be respawned, and you will choose to either get back into the fight or retreat home. Should the first option be your pick, you will find yourself near a lift and the operator will be there for you. If you had left him items, you could retrieve them from his custody. Otherwise, he will always have some bullets for you. They are not as fresh as the ones you grow at home or find on plants though. They are rotten, less effective, but still useful to get back on your feet.
Will you try to get back what you lost, or will you play it safe? Will you hunt your killer, or get on and pursue different objectives? Will you be predator or prey?
