Hello pawsome!
A feast for the eyes is a well-known idiom that shows just how impawrtant visuals are in creating an experience one can enjoy and believe in. Naturally, we wanted to make sure the world of Catizens reflects the cat theme in as many ways as possible, with each major detail fitting neatly into the game’s overall style and atmosphere. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be much of a cat fantasy world, would it?

The most obvious way of presenting the game’s theme, besides catizens themselves, is via the game’s environment and the buildings and objects your cats interact with. We’ve included a feline motif throughout the settlement the catizens inhabit, with the intention of creating a sense that this place is populated by individuals with paws and whiskers, not humans.
Soft beds and sturdy walls go hand in hand with wooden scratching poles. After all, it’s important to keep your tools of the trade in tip-top shape!
Though the catizens walk on two paws and are perhaps a tad more anthropomorphic than a typical house cat, they have preserved some of their ancestors’ quirks and habits. Stretching out on a soft pillow, playing with a ball of yarn, smuggling a bushel of catnip — these aren’t just gameplay elements, they help make the world more believable and purr-suasive.

One could endlessly speculate on what the world would look like if felines had become the dominant species in place of apes. Yet, our vision of the game is thoroughly human — cute and cozy, permeated with adoration for the furry overlords that pretend to be our pets.
Until next time,
Catizens Team
