Since the catizens can mine all of their own minerals, it may seem like the market isn't necessary. However, that is just not the case!
As you progress through the game, you may find that your colony has run out of nearby trees or stones for raw materials, or that a resource-rich area is blocked off by a wolf lair.
Without resources, you won't be able to build new houses or improve existing ones, which means the cats won't feel satisfied and could end up abandoning the settlement.
Everything may seem hopeless at first, but trading is the key to success!
All you need to do is change up your strategy. Spend some time training farmers to plant crops that you can trade for other resources or necessities.
You can also buy rare items from the market, like flea collars, which are essential for the comfortable life of your catizens. And if you're in desperate need of a cat with paws in the right place, you can hire a farmer, an architect, a knight or even a ranger.
Time to put on that business suit ;)
