🏟️ Arena Changes
As promised, we’re pleased to confirm the comeback of Gates of Fire mode in the Arena slot. To content all Dragoneers, Skirmish mode also joins GoF and Survival. We want to make sure players find their favorite game mode while ensuring we keep the best matchmaking experience possible. Therefore, we have implemented a threefold rotation, following the below pattern:
- Monday, Thursday, Saturday: Gates of Fire
- Tuesday, Friday : Skirmish
- Wednesday, Sunday : Survival
As an important reminder, this approach is temporary. We’re aiming to fully bring back all three modes 24/7 further down the road.
🎯 Experimental: Elimination
As some of you have experienced already, we’ll be bringing back the Experimental slot to test out a new approach to our existing game modes in the coming days.
This new game mode called “Elimination”, will be available for an entire week-end, replacing the Arena slot. The exact launch/end times will be confirmed at a later date. Obviously, you will have to not be a rookie anymore to play this mode, as the Experimental slot only appears to players at lvl 5 and higher. The Arena slot will return to its usual place following Monday as we gather your feedback on Elimination mode.
The Elimination mode will be based on a Carnage 3v3 setup with additional rules:
- “Best of 7”: winning team is the first with 4 victorious rounds
- Death is permanent: the last team standing wins the round
Communication, focus and strategy will be crucial for you to eliminate your enemies. So… let there be Carnage!!!
✨ Quality of Life
Following our observations regarding game mode selection across the game, the behavior of the “Quickplay” button on the Lobby will be switched from auto-joining an Unranked match to the Play section - thus allowing everyone to select their preferred game mode.
We hope this slight change will direct more players to the Arena slot (Survival / Gates of Fire / Skirmish) and will be monitoring player counts and your feedback to continue improving your experience of Century.
