Update: In celebration of reactivating purchases for Steam users, we will be topping up the Pool of Aurum to keep the fun flowing for a little longer!
We’re pleased to announce that temporary restrictions for purchases through Steam have now been lifted. This means that our Steam players are now able to acquire Aurum and engage in Aurum Exchange transactions.
However, due to the way Steam transactions are administered, we must introduce and enforce one further limitation, that will, for the foreseeable future, remain in place: If you buy Aurum via Steam, it will be bound to your account, and to the character you choose to send it to.
Bound Aurum is identical to regular Aurum in every way and used to purchase the exact same items, but it cannot be traded at the Aurum Exchange for Imperial Coins or used on the Aurum section of the Auction House.
We will continue to monitor the situation and hope to loosen restrictions in the future, but be aware we are enforcing this last limitation as a necessary security measure and to ensure the integrity of the Aurum Exchange for all our players.
