Hey Vikings,
January has come and gone, and it's time for our monthly recap. Big things are happening! What exactly, you ask? We're here to let you know! 😄
While the game is currently closed, we want to keep you in the loop about all the features we're working on! We're moving full speed ahead on Tribes of Midgard - and can't wait to show you the next version of the game.
Here's a recap of some of the biggest things we're working on:
⚒️ Construction system: place walls, towers and ramps!
😈 A third Giant, whose form may surprise you
🏠 Revamping the Village layout
🔁 Preparing procedural generation for new mechanics
📝 Level Design of the Dark Elf Bastion
🔑 Modelling the Gates of the Dark Elf Bastion (which require a key to open)
🏃 Updating enemy movement so that they can run further in the world
⛺️ New Camps in the Land of Pools
☃️ Research on Hot/Cold Gauges
👕 New Armor set, shields, and weapons
Our third Giant's form is a little different from anything you've seen so far! And with the addition of some different types of Camps (the ones that include doors and keys) there will be new points of interest to check out all over the world.
We'll be sharing how everything is looking, starting February! Make sure to follow us on whichever platform you use most to catch it all 👇
We don't have a release date to share just yet, and we had our last Open Beta in December. However, we're planning at least one a Closed Beta before we head to release.
For now, be sure to Wishlist our game on Steam! We also post weekly updates there, and it'll be the first place to find out any Closed Beta news.
Yes... we go outside! Julian (our CEO), Sydnee and JP (our community managers) hopped on a few planes last week to embark on an important quest (we can't say anything more) - but exciting things are coming! We also visited Demo Night Montreal, which is an awesome event hosted to show off new upcoming games.
And, while we haven't released Tribes of Midgard just yet, you can still be a part of our Gamepedia. The Wiki's being filled up with game information and lore, thanks to the Wiki Team in our Discord! Honestly it's quite awesome to see the team work on this project, and it'll be handy for when the game's open again.
Anyone can join the team by messaging our Mods in the Discord!

We still see some pretty awesome videos pop up from our last Beta, here's one from SplatterCatGaming! Check it out:

We also have our weekly quizzes in the Discord, every Thursday, where you can test your Tribes of Midgard and Norse mythology knowledge! Congrats to our January Quiz winners- Guillaume, Shalurya, and Shrimp! Here's a sample of our quiz comments...
We're also so happy to see you're enjoying the gameplay we post on Twitter! We love sharing the sneak peeks and look forward to sharing even more.
And that's it for our January recap! There's much in store, and we're so glad to have you as part of our tribe. We're eager to open up the gates again. Hope you had a great start to 2020!
Talk soon,
Sydnee, JP, and the Norsfell Team 🗻❄️
