We’re done chasing the sun and back in the saddle - squashing bugs, perfecting level design, fine-tuning animations, and so much more at the FlatPonies stables!
We’re still tapping our hooves after dropping the Gameplay Trailer and going live with our demo for Six One Indie Demo Days. Between our team stampede at the DHL Relay and another showcase on the horizon (TODAY!), we've got plenty to share.
Saddle up for the August rundown!
Community Feedback & Bug Hunting
Since pushing our demo LIVE, we’ve been reading through your comments, watching your playthroughs, and taking notes!
Our team turns on their computers every single day to handcraft Scratch’s world - from sketches to final character builds, mapping out levels, playtesting, building the ground, and making Scratch feel great to control whether he's jumping or crawling. It takes a lot of time and care to polish everything, which is why we appreciate your input so much. A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to leave feedback or help us hunt down bugs. We’ve already pushed updates based directly on your reports!
Our Creative Director, Felix Sherar, summed it up best:
“It’s been really fun to watch content come from the community. Tuning into streams and hearing people reminisce about how a specific part of the game reminds them of some obscure game from their childhood is pure gold.”
- Felix Sherar, Creative Director
Best Indie Games Fall Showcase
We’re trotting right into another showcase, as we are beyond excited to participate in the Best Indie Games Fall Showcase, opening the barn doors wider once again so even more players get to know and experience Scratch’s world for themselves. Be sure to tune in to the broadcast and catch all the amazing indie highlights, on September 1st at 5 pm CEST / 8 AM PST!
FlatPonies out of breath: DHL Relay 2026
A flock of FlatPonies recently traded their keyboards for running shoes to take on the DHL Relay under Games Denmark, sharing a tent and cheering on our fellow local studios. Our relay team crossed the finish line with an official time of 2:39:31!
Here is how the team felt after stepping away from their desks:
"I went from the treadmill to the race and realized Design had neglected to inform me that my water bottle and phone would not magically float in front of me as I ran. We'll have to adjust in the next patch." - Mikkel Sønderby Lamhauge, Lead Programmer
"Running looks so much easier when I animate it."
- Nanna Lundin, Animator
"I can conclude that I’ve gotten 10 seconds older since last year’s run... because my time was exactly 10 seconds slower compared to last year."
- Casper Taro, Sound Designer
From left to right: Cheerleader for the team Julie Hindkjær (comms. manager & writer), and all the runners: Mikkel Sønderby Lamhauge (Lead Programmer), Casper Taro (Sound Designer), Jesper Andersson (Programmer), Jeppe Faber (Programmer) and at the triumphant front: Nanna Lundin (Animator).
A Cat, a Dog, and… a Turtle?
Over on our Discord, we're keeping the cozy vibes going between big development updates. Beyond game chatter and behind-the-scenes sneak peeks, our community likes to share their furry or not so furry companions. Whether you share your life with a cat, a dog, a turtle, or any other creature, pop into the server, share a photo, and say hi to the rest of the community.
Join our Discord to get updates, work in progress photos, and the opportunity to hear and chat with the team behind Scratch The Cat.
The majestic grey cat Elías, forever-vacation-mode from the fluffy dog Soya, and a powerful stance from Turbo the glorious turtle.
You can still play the Demo
If you haven't had a chance to make Scratch slide, jump or… scratch some pesky rats, then tab away, because the demo is still live and waiting for you!
You can check out the demo on Steam and make sure to wishlist us on your platform of choice so you never miss an update!
