Howdy!
Today I would like to give you a little preview of the next version, which will be released on Wednesday.
With this version (20.2) a new damage and maintenance system will be introduced in SpedV for the trucks bought by the forwarding agency. This happens in preparation for the introduction of a "used car market" for trucks.
There are fixed maintenance intervals: (EDITED)
- brake pads (every 150k KM)
- Brake discs (every 300k KM, are automatically replaced together with the brake pads if less than 150k KM remain)
- Tyre change (every 200k KM)
- Engine maintenance (every 90k KM)
In addition, there will be (random) damage to the truck that has occurred in certain KM areas since the last occurrence:
- Wishbone failure
- Stabilizing agent defect
- Oscilation damper defect
- Engine failure
- Gearbox damage
- Stone Chip (this can always happen)
The repair of damage and the performance of maintenance (and thus also Main Check and Safety Check) will require time during which the truck cannot be used. Drivers who want to use the truck during the execution of the maintenance automatically rent a rental truck from the company (at the usual conditions). This happens even if driving with rental trucks is not allowed in the permissions!
The same happens if a maintenance/repair is not carried out (before the expiry of the period/the KM).

For the management of maintenance and repairs, the update provides a new list in the tab Spedition under "Branches" with a clear overview of all tasks to be completed. Here the fleet manager of the forwarding agency can then have them carried out.
Three notes on the new system:
- For trucks with currently more than 600k KM or 1m KM, the system automatically throws one or more damages directly after the first order due to the way the damage is calculated. This cannot be avoided.
- Engine and transmission damages usually lead to an economic total loss of the truck concerned. Currently, the damages are not yet included in the sales price of the truck, but this will change with the introduction of the used car market (probably in April).
- In return for the repair and maintenance costs now introduced here, the flat rate for "vehicle and maintenance" has been greatly reduced.
We hope that you will have a lot of fun with the new system, even though it will of course add a little more effort to the management of the shipping company. As always, we ask you for feedback after the implementation, so that we can possibly tighten some screws again.
Always a good trip and good luck!
Nico
