Greetings all!
Last week we asked all of you what's on your mind, and we've hand picked a few of the most important questions to answer so that those waiting for Warlords Awakening can have their questions addressed.
Lets get to it
Questions
"Will there be founder packs for the game that will offer exclusive cosmetics or other cool items?
We know the game will become available this summer is there a eta or just summer?" - Hisan
Our plan right now is to offer a Founder’s pack exclusive to Early Access, and another package for full release with the same price point. We may plan more packages at different price points, but none will be forced upon players to purchase. We don’t want to say just yet what’s in store, but you can definitely expect the Founder’s pack from Early Access to have some exclusive benefits that is not included in the Full Release package.
"Numerous people are wondering if the damage numbers that pop up when you attack a monster are going be the same as what we see of Kuntara Online? If so is there a option in settings to turn said numbers off? Also thank you for telling us it is P2P but with that another question comes in mind. Do you mean P2P as in buy the game once and have access to the game permanently or P2P as in have a monthly subscription where you would have to pay every month?" - San1992
To address your first question, the game damage numbers that pop up can be helpful to users playing for the first time and create a certain aesthetic. Having said that, we know it’s not for everyone and you can be rest assured, if you want to turn them off, you will have the capability to do so. As for the business model, we feel it is much better to have people buy the game as a package so that they’re not hampered by required purchases in the game to keep up with other users. That’s a very quick way for a game to turn Pay2Win and terrible for users who don’t wish to spend hundreds of dollars. We have been in discussions internally and with our current Ambassadors about possibly adding a subscription for the game, but this is a careful balancing act between gaining and maintaining users, and earning enough to sustain the game for those users. We certainly don’t want to drive users away because of the business model; we want to keep costs down so that everyone who wants to enjoy Warlords Awakening, will be able to.
"In addition to the 6v6 MOBA style arena which we are very excited for in the future, several members of my community were interested in whether or not the team had thought about a Battle Royale game mode?
We were also wondering how many Ambassadors you were thinking of inviting and whether or not you will post an official list on your website?" - SoBaDStrange
Great question! We know there’s been a huge surge of battle royale type games over the past year or so, and while the idea is great, we don’t currently have plans to implement such a game mode. But who knows what the future holds!
We have no exact number, but somewhere in the range of 50-100 should be suitable, and we’ll have programs for regular users in the future. We will certainly be posting an official list when we have accepted the desired number Ambassadors from the first round of applications.
"Are you willing to make drastic changes considering game play to suit player's wishes and needs?" - Spaz Rabbit
There is a lot to digest here, but we think most of these questions can be summarized. What is the new content we’ve brought and what changes have we, or will we make to the game?
In essence, we have a road map planned for how to release the content we have currently have and are bringing forward. And yes some of the changes you wish are included and some currently are not. Depending on the success of the game and if we’re capable of sustaining a large enough user, you can expect more and more of what users want in the game, to be added.
As for events, the answer is yes, we will certainly have different celebratory events in the game.
"If you guys are planning to bring it back from the ashes, can we expect the same game as we used to play before?
I would like to know if this game being in your hands, can we expect it to live (for at least) more than 2 years?" - GalaxyEyes
Hopefully the game will be stay to its roots and the great things from previous iterations can be coupled with the exciting balance changes we’ve made for the Steam release. We feel as though we’ve taken the best elements the game has to offer and even improved them. The longevity of the game is entirely dependent on the success we can generate. With MMORPGs, a healthy user base is always needed to maintain the best game features.
"How frequent can we expect the cash shop to be updated since you guys have stated that the cash shop will be pure cosmetics?
Will the test server remain exclusive to ambassadors from now until the official launch in October? If not, how do you guys plan on recruiting more testers?
How long will testing last before EA & is there an estimated time-frame you guys provide us with after testing to implement any necessary changes before the game hits EA?" - Revanie
The cash shop is meant to be updated frequently with changes so that the items do not go sale. You can also expect a large amount of items to have limited releases. Of what use is a cool pet or costume if everyone else has it?
The test server is currently only for Ambassadors pre-EA and pre big patch changes. But all users who purchase a Founder’s Pack or obtain a founders pack key will be able to play the game during EA. You will not have to wait until October to play.
Testing before EA is being done in house and Ambassadors will also have access to the server anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks prior to EA launch. The exact figures are not set in stone just yet.
In Conclusion
A great big thank you to all that asked questions and a special thank you to those who we chose to answer specifically, we felt their questions big summed up most people questions regarding the launching of Warlords Awakening.
