Lords and knights,
In the wake of last week’s battlefield reforms, pre‑orders for the 5‑star unit Royal Longbowmen are now officially open. All wartime preparations are complete. This elite long‑range corps, capable of switching between three arrow types and unleashing high‑arc shots over obstacles, stands ready to join your host and become the most lethal source of ranged suppression in the Wars of the Roses.
Unit Origins: Under Royal Mandate, Archery at Its Peak
As the Wars of the Roses drew to a close and gunpowder weapons—muskets and cannon—began to emerge, the rulers of the new dynasty still placed unshakable faith in the iron resolve and killing power of the longbowmen. Across the realm, they handpicked masters of the bow, granted them a royal mandate, and armed them with powerful 80‑pound wooden longbows and fine armor, forging them into the Royal Longbowmen who would carry the king’s will to every battlefield.
Yet the legend of these veterans lies not in marksmanship alone. During the wars between the Tudor dynasty and Scotland, the Scottish king himself fell beneath their high‑arc fire. With arrows loosed at extreme angles, they could send death arcing over fieldworks and heavy front‑line shields, striking directly at the fragile enemy rear. This tactic remains a decisive key to breaking the enemy line to this very day.
Three Arrows, Total Coverage: From Armor‑Breaking at Close Range to Suppression at Extreme Distance
The core strength of the Royal Longbowmen lies in their ability to switch arrows according to the enemy’s distance, achieving seamless coverage with no dead angles:
- Close range (enemy lines pressing in): Deploy Heavy Piercing Arrows. Their armor‑piercing heads tear through heavy defenses at short distance.
- Mid range (standard engagement): Switch to Precision Arrows. With maximum accuracy, they deliver lethal damage against lightly armored units.
- Long range (extreme‑range suppression): Loose Lightfeather Arrows. Their lightweight construction grants exceptional range, allowing continuous attrition from a safe distance.
Two Signature Skills: Arrowstorms to Shatter Lines, High‑Arc Fire to Slay the Rear
The High Council now declassifies two core battle skills, each forged to answer different needs on the field:
1. King's Mandate: Designate a target zone. The unit focuses its full firepower on the area and surrounding enemies, rapidly breaking hostile formations and opening breaches in the line.
2. Skyfall Volley: Rain down multiple waves of arrows on a marked location. High‑angle trajectories arc over obstacles to strike directly at rear‑line targets with ruthless precision.
Ace of the Field: Extreme‑Range Lock, Commanding the Battle with a Single Unit
The Royal Longbowmen stand as "remote commanders" of the battlefield—veterans, battle‑hardened and fully equipped. By adjusting their arrow type and skills to match the flow of combat, they can both exert long‑range suppressive fire and execute pinpoint strikes on key targets, becoming the crucial force that breaks the balance of war.
In the northern theaters, battles are never decided by a single unit alone. Yet the terror of extreme‑range firepower will let you seize the initiative and dictate the course of the campaign. Following last week’s battlefield reforms, you may summon the Royal Longbowmen at once. Let the thunder of their great war bows and their relentless arrowstorms become the enemy’s waking nightmare, sweeping aside every obstacle on your path through the Wars of the Roses.
Steel shows no mercy; range decides the fate of empires. This regiment now stands fully mustered and ready, awaiting only the command of you, Lords and knights.
