To be enjoyed long after the world loses its internet connection.
Lost In Cult x Billy Basso x Bigmode proudly present Animal Well: Design Works.
Unearth the creation story of one of the decade's most ingenious indies. Developed over a seven year period by its remarkably talented creator Billy Basso, this is a development story for the ages, and one that deserves to be detailed, documented and discussed for years to come.
From forgotten prototypes and years of solo development, to awards and critical acclaim, Animal Well: Design Works chronicles the incredible journey of this beloved puzzler over 200+ pages.
Crafted alongside Billy Basso, Dan Adelman, and the Bigmode team, Animal Well: Design Works dives deep into what makes this title so special. Through screenshots of various game builds, developer insight and in-depth analysis, we chart the rise of one of the finest indie games around.
Reflecting on the project, developer Billy Basso said “Lost in Cult has assembled a beautiful collection and the definitive record of Animal Well’s development. This is something I would have wanted for any game I’ve ever loved.”
Alongside our premium Design Works book, we have crafted a series of Deluxe Edition extras to draw you further into the well. From a UV reactive hardcover to a Famicom-inspired pin badge box, we have designed a series of extras to compliment our chronicle of Animal Well.
Animal Well: Design Works is available to pre-order now. Our Deluxe Edition is campaign exclusive, and is only available until our campaign ends on 1 July 2025.
Also announcing: in its physical debut, Billy Basso’s mesmeric Animal Well soundtrack arrives on vinyl! More information below.
