Hi DailyVR users,
First of all, we would like to apologize for this issue. If you’ve used our DailyVR for android recently, you will find that you cannot receive any phone call or SMS notifications. Here we would like to talk about the reason, provide a workaround, and what we will do next.
Why?
The main reason is Google changed their permission policy and they don’t accept our SMS functions is “core functionality.” Even we’ve tried several times to fit their system, but they always rejected.
A short term workaround
After several attempts, we decided to provide our users with a short-term solution to install the local APK file directly.
You should uninstall the google play version first. And then install the local APK. The phone call and SMS notifications are running well in the local build.

3. Install the local build

And if we pass Google play review in the future, you should uninstall the local build first.
What will we do next?
We are trying using other mechanisms to get SMS notification. And we believe that this method should be able to pass the review successfully.
In the meantime, if you want to use the full functionality of dailyVR for Android, please download the local build to use.
