Hello Adventurers!
Welcome to the latest issue of Developer Face-to-face, a place where we bring you latest updates on what we're working on behind the scenes! Last week, we released the second round of Season 3's special pirate-themed events and content, and we have been continuously collecting your feedback as we always do. We are delighted to see that the new mechanics focused around underwater combat have been well received by many players, thank you so much for your support!
In addition to the highly-anticipated DX12 client, we have some exciting new stuff we would like to announce this time, including the training mode, improvements coming to the quick-mark system, the release of two new weapons, and a tease of upcoming new "gadgets." Let's jump in and take a look!
I. DX12
At present, the development of the DX12 client has entered the final stage, and we expect to open the Beta test for the DX12 client this May.
The implementation of DX12 will bring more efficient usage of CPU resources, resulting in a significant increase in the client's frame rate and improved graphics presentation, especially for players with mid-end PC configurations. We may release the DX12 client in different stages, so please keep an eye on our various platforms for our follow up announcements coming soon!
II. Training mode
Throughout the last couple of months, we have been receiving lots of messages from players, voicing their desire a training mode (a mode against AIs), with different intentions and purposes. Some players expressed their desire to practice their weapon skills, some want to get familiar with the game's mechanics, and some simply just wanted to play against AIs in peace, without the interference from anyone else.
Therefore, after putting in careful consideration for your needs, we have decided to make training mode available for everyone. After entering the training mode, you will start a game round filled with AIs.
Given that some players felt that these AIs could act a little "dumb" at times, we also gave them an update and made them "smarter," so be careful out there when you play with them!
III. Captain Fokke's Tier-90 Character Styles
As Season 3 goes on, Captain Fokke's Tier-90 Character Styles- the Ambassador series will soon be unlocked. As a mysterious pirate captain, this new Character Style represents his authority and his dominating, hegemonic presence on the open sea.

IV. S3 Pinnacle Challenge
We have received questions from players asking whether there will be another "Pinnacle Challenge" event like we did in Season 2, which rewards a FREE Adventurer Pass in the next season.
Well, the answer is yes! We will be bringing back the Pinnacle Challenges very soon in Season 3, completing the challenges will reward a FREE Season 4 Adventurer Pass, so get ready! :D
V. New weapons- the P90 and Scorpion Evo 3
We will be releasing two new weapons in the upcoming patch: the P90 and the Scorpion Evo 3. The P90 is one of the most iconic weapons in the gaming world, and we're super excited to bring it to Ring of Elysium. Due to the unique features of P90, such as its high magazine capacity (50 rounds), the ammo it uses (5.7mm), and its quick bullet velocity, we will make this powerful SMG an airdrop only weapon.

The Scorpion Evo 3 on the other hand, is an extremely well-rounded, high-performance SMG, it has the fastest rate of fire in the entire game, and lower recoil compared to other submachine guns, making it the ultimate weapon for close range engagements.

We're sure the arrival of these two new weapons will bring something new to the meta and provide more tactical choices for you, we look forward to seeing how they perform!
VI. Improvements to the Quick-mark system
In Battle Royales, communication with teammates is very crucial. Many players gave feedback on that the current marking system is very good at marking positions, but it cannot fulfill a variety of other purposes, so we have decided to expand on this system according to the actual needs of everyone to meet a variety of different combat situations. For now, we're still working on the design of the new marking system, so please give us your designs and wait for our followup announcements on this system!
VII. Some new ideas
Although it seems a little too early to talk about new content like this, we have some fun ideas we would like to share with you, and we hope to brainstorm this new concept together with you guys!
As we all know, in Ring of Elysium, each player selects a traversal equipment pack at the beginning of each game, and each pack provides something incredibly useful to help players when they fight their way out to the evacuation helicopter. When we re-evaluated this design earlier, we came up with the idea of "maybe we can offer more tools to the players," it could be a new pack, or even lootable items that everyone can use and help them out in terms of survivability, scouting, movement, combat, etc.
Do you have any good ideas and concepts? Make sure to let us know in the comment section below!
That sums up this issue's Developer Face-to-face. As always, thank you for reading and your support, and we'll see you next time!
