"Ho-ho-ho, kids, it's Santa! Which one of you boys and girls was good this year?"
Yep, practically no one. That's right, and certainly not the ones who played Breathedge. See for yourself: a tragedy happens, thousands of people die, the only survivor is trying to get a breath of fresh oxygen, and you are sitting and snickering about it. That's the apogee of cynicism! Do you feel ashamed of yourself? We don’t, and therefore it’s time to take away the gift bag from that old man and talk of many things.
Presents first. We’ve got Santa’s gift bag, but there are no congratulations in it, so we won’t congratulate anyone on anything. And it’s too early to do that anyway. However, we’ll shake a Christmas discount out of the bag. It’s a bit worn, and was probably used for purposes other than intended, but hey, it’s still a discount. In addition, we’d like to remind you that this discount will be the last one for the current Breathedge minimum price. Further, as promised, the next chapters will be released, and the price of the game will increase in direct proportion to our greed, so if you didn’t have time to buy the game yesterday, don’t buy it today either.
The second gift you’ll get is our happy smiles. Unfortunately, we do not have cameras, mobile phones, or even faces, that’s why our artist tried to portray the happy Redruins Softworks team on paper.
Let’s look into the gift bag further: some pieces of paper, cigarette butts, a cucumber... Ah, here it is! While our scriptwriter was engaged in teaching kung-fu to a domestic turtle instead of writing the script, other team members were naturally unhappy that he did not invite them as experts. So we decided to do a common thing for adults: to get offended and play building bricks, and also to give you an opportunity to get offended and play building bricks too.
“What is this masterpiece and how can I make something like that?” you may ask. You can play these building bricks through an additional, hidden, and mythical tool called Breathedge: Constructor, which is activated on Steam and remains with you forever, probably.
In this tool you will find a full-fledged basic construction functions, with the help of which you can not only build great and useless buildings, but... but, well, that's all you can do with it. At the same time, it gives free scope to creativity, and the craziest buildings will go down in the history of Breathedge, so don’t forget to share your screenshots in social networks. By the way, there is no saving option here. If you have constructed an exact copy of Venice, and your cat has turned off the computer by puking on the socket, the copy of Venice will be lost forever.
How to discover this world of useless construction? To do this, please open Steam, hover your mouse over the Library tab and select Tools there. In the opened list, you need to find Breathedge: Constructor and install it anywhere you like. Done! Wait for the update and get rid of your computer which turned into a brick (just kidding). By the way, your main game and saves won’t be deleted.
Apart from constructing indecent stations, there will be a small surprise under the Christmas tree in the form of the most NOT stupid mini-game in the world. This is a very intellectual, enriching, and, once again, NOT stupid game that you can find in future chapters.
There are no more gifts left and it's time to talk about the eternal. So what could be more eternal than the development of Breathedge? As we have already said, we want to release two chapters of the game at once, expanding the world and possibilities. It takes time, effort, and a fully trained kung-fu turtle to complete the script. Narration is an important part of the game, many mechanics are connected with each other, as well as with game events, and we wouldn’t want to separate them. In addition, we are trying to give freedom lovers as much freedom and sandbox playtime as possible, but at the same time we are trying not to lose the spirit of the linear and integral first chapter. We also don’t want to add spoilers by releasing updates with two-hour pieces of the game.
Aside from that, we listen to the community and see that it insists on showing something interesting, so Breathedge: Constructor will be updated in the future and supplemented by various game mechanics until the new chapters come out. Very soon you’ll be able to build a transport compartment, a vacuum cleaner for flights, and your personal Zaporozhets car here. Also new types of artificial intelligence will appear here and you can even shoot at them. New tools will appear and something else, probably dead. In addition to the dubious fun, you’ll be able to quickly write your opinion and suggestions on the work of the mechanics, and we can ignore this opinion and spoil what the players like. Testing will also take part here, and we are also thinking about the possibility of players participating in the creation of modifications, content and other goodies, but this is not for sure, we didn’t say that.
At the moment we are at the most difficult stage of development: we are creating the main gameplay. However we would like to inform you about our plans for further updates. According to our estimates, the launch of the second chapter together with the third one should take place before the beginning of summer, most likely in the next 3-4 months. So start poking at us with your stick somewhere in April to check if we are still alive. If we are still stirring, then you are in for some breathtaking flights across space, unique liner debris, new meaningless tasks, new broken antennas, construction, the sea of the dead, mayonnaise bombs, asteroid explosions, getting acquainted with captain Shepard (all references are purely coincidental), snarky comments on Steam, military development, two big secrets of Babe, coffin navigators, body grinders, and much more. And if we are not stirring, then it means that we are dead. So it goes.
