Era 8 has finally come to an end.
The current beta branch has update 0.10 which is the start of Era 9. This update is due out on Monday 30th but you are welcome to test it now.
In the update there are the latest armours for your characters:
The Tactical Armour suit is designed for the reserves and dex based characters. Made from the best composite materials of the era, the suit only surpased by the Assault Armour.
Heavy and durable. All front line characters should not enter Era 9 without this armour.
Era9 is due to start soon and in it the horror of the blight will begin to fully awaken and launch its forces against the player. Animals and Elements alike will be sent to assault the characters and Settlements.
At the end of Era 8 you see the first of these smaller elementals in the like of the bone grinder.
However much worse is to come.
So what new weapons have you to bring into the battle? Well you are given a many new guns in the form of the shotgun, sniper rifle and assault rifle as well as grenades. However your real breakthrough is in bio-warfare.
You initial weapons are weak but they blaze a trail for what is to come.
Add to that your ability to mount field artillery on your settlements walls as well as heavy machinegun militia. You should be ready.
Finally you are also given access to Settlement 9, the toxic wasteland. Not the best place to make a home but it allows the placement of the plutonium mine and the start of your nuclear research.
Your civilisation is coming close to that of the ancients. With new computers you will strive to get ahead before the blight is fully awake. Era 9 is where you make your plans for end game. Make sure you are ready!
