Hi Sword Smoochers~
Ah, spring. The season of allergies and love. And updates, apparently!
Dunj Updates
Okay, so let’s get right to the dev updates. The Nightclub Dunj is being fitted with its new monsters and attacks, and for the past few weeks we’ve been working on a BRAND NEW demo. Our previous one (which you’ve played if you’ve been at PAX or whatever convention Boyfriend Dungeon has been at) was nice, but outdated for about… a whole year now. The dunj environments have been improved, the combat is smoother, and the various bugs have been fixed.
The new demo also features dates with Isaac. Before you could only fight with Sunder and Valeria, but now a third will be added to the mix. Sunder is only a little disappointed he isn’t the center of attention, but he needs to learn to SHARE *cough cough*.
Isaac Updates + His Letter
By the way. We got a lot of comments that Isaac wasn’t REALLY an Épée judging from the shape and uh, you know what? You’re right! From now on he will be Isaac, the Estoque. Nothing else has changed -- he’s still the suave financier you know and love.
Plus we even gave him a whole new outfit for when he’s busy at fencing practice!
Ah, he is so dapper. If you want to read the latest newsletter IN HIS VOICE, you can read it here!
Conventions
So where can you play this brand new demo, you ask? Well, if you go to E3, we’ll be on the showfloor with it! From May 28 - 30, we’ll also be in London for Casual Connect Europe, where we’re a finalist for the Indie Prize! Aaahhh fingers crossed. You can play the old demo there and say hi to our programmer Marcelo.
This isn’t related to Boyfriend Dungeon buuuuuuut if you’ve been paying attention to our channels, you’ll know we’ve been hinting that half of our team has been working on something else for the past year or so. All of that will be revealed online at the Kinda Funny Games Showcase. Mark your calendars for June 10th @ 4:30 PST, at youtube.com/kindafunnygames to see what the other half of the team has been up to!
We can give you a little hint. It’s dark, and ~mysterious~...
In the meantime, we’ll see you around on Discord and Twitter, or our newsletter.
See you next time,
Victoria and the Kitfox Team
