Hello everyone. Since uploading this game to Steam just a few days ago, my upcoming Rock 'N Roll game has already seen a total of 14 updates, mostly minor tweaks and fixes, but today brought version 0.42 which added controller support to this game.
Lots more work is planned for this game before it officially launches on July 14th in early access.
Here or some of the priority features that are planned for this game before it launches and during the early access period:
- Currently, resources can be collected that drop from the asteroids which you blast. These resources are automatically sold for general market values with a small randomization for bonus score points if you complete the level (clear all rocks on a screen). Soon, you'll have an option for every resourse you collect to sell if for either X score points or Y game cash and game cash can be saved and used to purchase many different ship upgrades over the course of a game.
- Ship upgrades will be introduced which can be purchased with game cash you can choose to sell any collected resources for at the end of each level. These upgrades will only improve your ships attributes during that game however.
- High scores will be introduced to the game, first just local high scores kept at your computer the game is installed on, but global high scores and the ability to compete against your Steam friends highest score is planned! (Steam global high scores may not be in the game until after launch at some point in the early access developement period)
- A mission mode is planned to be added to this game to make you feel more of a purpose and story behind all the action in this game.
- A local two player mode is definitely planned and will offer several options such as co-op or versus, and level of asteroids etc.
- Bosses are planned for this game, huge space enemies with tons of health to add even more variety and challenge to this game for those desiring even more challenge than this game currently offers. (This is something planned further down the early access development line)
These are just a few of the changes I am currently planning for Rock 'N Roll. Early access will also give me the opportunity to take the players suggestions and ideas to help better define how this game ultimately turns out! While every planned feature may not make it into the final version, I do definitely plan on working hard on this game to make sure it offers a great value to my customers who decide to give this game a try!
Please feel free to use the forums I have to give me your thoughts, suggestions, and to ask questions! Thank you for your time, and have a great day!
