Just hours ago, I posted version 1.03 in which I successfully got Steam Global and Steam Friends Leaderboards working in Rock 'N Roll! You guys were asking for it, and I delivered! (..even if it did take me a while and a lot of wrestling with syntax in Steams system I'm brand new to)
..Anyhow, Steam Leaderboards are finally in and working, you can read update 1.03 about how to see all the high scores for Rock 'N Roll, and now you can compete against your friends on Steam (psst, get them to buy my game, yo..) and now you can also compete with Rock 'N Rollers around the world!
But not all is nice and friendly in the world of "Rock 'N Roll".. It seems we have several "B00Bs" already who have tried to cheat their way to the top of the Rock 'N Roll charts on Steam! Within just a couple of hours after I went live with patch 1.03 (the leaderboard patch), I had to delete one user from the leaderboard for having a 155 million point score and exactly 7 minutes of time spent in Rock 'N Roll. Moments later, another user was ejected by yours truly from the top for posting a 68 million point score with exactly 4 minutes of total game time spent. And a third "B00B" had a private profile but obviously lost control of his cheating program and this was posted to the high scores on Steam:
Never fear fellow Rock 'N Rollers! Zax is Here! I just spent several long hard moments in deep thought and brainstorming massive calculations and complex formulas and massive code to implement ZAC (Zax Anti-Cheat)! I say no more protecting these cheating "B00B"s and their identity as I did in the above screenshot! Let's expose them!
I'm sure it won't work for crud, but hey. it was fun to implement and who knows? Maybe we'll catch a boob or two! If you see any obvious "B00B"s on the Steam leaderboards for Rock 'N Roll, please screen shot them and post them right HERE under this post.. so we can all stare at how BAD they truly are! ..Imagine feeling like you need to cheat at a simple little rock blasting game to reach the top and pretend you're a cool "rock n roller" when really you're just a big bad B00B! :-D
I even posted the ZAC "B00B" protection warning right on the main menu screen of Rock N Roll! No more playing nice! Let's get some nice pics of them wicked "B00B"s and let's all have a good fun time Rock 'N Rollin' eh? :-) In all seriousness.. Have fun out there!
