LOL. My, my, my... how fun it is to see how people can play the game in crazy ways to try and break your game! Thanks to my friend Thomas for breaking my game and exploiting millions of easy points by simply killing all the asteroids with power-ups and/or Spi-Roll attacks and not firing a single shot but scoring through-the-roof accuracy bonus points for it!
This has (I believe) now been fixed... I've completely redone the accuracy bonus calculations at the end of each level to award you for achieving at least a 25% accuracy on each level, but smacks from your ship no longer count (or diminish) your accuracy, only shots fired count towards your accuracy, as it should have been from the get-go. Also, while you can score a lot of points for getting a high accuracy, you should actually have to "earn" such a bonus now. (The bonus is calculated by both your accuracy percentage AND the total number of shots fired that hit an asteroid or an enemy now) and this is increased by small modifiers for doing this on both higher difficulty levels and on higher levels (waves of asteroids)
A lot of these fixes in both patches today were re-works of algotithms I put in place pretty quickly just to get the game functional way back when I started this project back in February. Still, its great to see how my original code can be so greatly broken in ways I never thought of, and requiring me to actually code it "correctly" to not only be much more accurate calculations, but also to be less exploitable.
Keep trying to break the game! Please let me know in the forums if you do break it, see a bug, expose an exploit, whatever! I can't fix what I don't know is broken, so I appreciate all these broken game screenshots and reports as it only helps me make this game better.
Happy rock-hunting!
