1.4.0
Earn the new cosmetics during the next playtests at 3pm ET and Monday at 7pm ET.
Airmen update 1.4 satisfies the major goal of full player cosmetic control. To accent this new system and make progress towards Airmen's veterancy based progression system, ~20 new cosmetics have been added obtainable by completing all new challenges.
The new challenge system focuses on rewarding airmen cosmetics for individual airmen objectives like enemies killed with boarding axes or boarders repelled with the boarding knife. The next wave of challenges will focus on airship based cosmetics and airship based objectives.
Major Features
- Added the first wave of challenges. These challenges focus on crewing and tool use objectives and every challenge gives a cosmetic upon completion.
- Added cosmetic selection and ~20 new cosmetics. Cosmetics are unlocked by completing challenges. New cosmetics apply to player head, chest, arms, legs, carbine, revolver, boarding knife, boarding axe, and repair hammer.
Minor Features
- The scoreboard now accounts for part damage dealt by disconnecting other parts.
- Adjusted models of rudders, dragon tails, and small prop to have much lower poly count.
- Surface ladders that mount to armor plate faces.
- Reduced the mass of armored balloons by 50.
- Added a hatch/ladder top combo part.
- Added a harpoon turret. Right click to dislodge a fired harpoon.
- Limited maximum angular velocity. This limit will not affect 99% of airships and is intended to prevent physics issues.
- Added an additional down force at extreme altitudes.
Bug Fixes
- Vertical props were not correctly speed limited.
