This update adds a monthly challenge mode and global online leaderboards! It also introduces a lot of features to make life easier for anyone interested in speedrunning like custom map seeds and a time display. Also included is a whole host of improvements and fixes across the board.
NEW/CHANGED:
- Monthly challenge mode [Requires Unlock] [Note 1]
- Global leaderboards [Requires Unlock] [Note 2]
- Time and score stats
- Custom map generation seeds
- Invincibility powerup replaced with Helmet [Note 3]
- "Dash" type teleport mode (check options)
- Valve Index users can now also use the trigger to grab arrows
- Speedrunner option: have run time displayed on screen at all times [Note 4]
- Teleport markers made semi-transparent again
- Less annoying laser pistol audio cue
- Powerup effects less extreme / distracting
Notes:
- To unlock monthly challenge mode and custom seeds, you'll need to loop the game at least once on any difficulty. Challenge mode can be attempted as many times as you like throughout the month
- Leaderboards will not save your score if you are using cheats!
- The helmet protects the player from exactly one hit and will provide some brief invincibility frames, but is lost when exiting the level
- To activate the speedrunner time display, open the config file located at C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\COMPOUND\config_2.cfg and change "ShowSpeedrunTimer False" to "ShowSpeedrunTimer True"
FIXED:
- Accountant shield getting stuck in white damage state
- Bad collision geo in sewers near doors
- Ammo duplication exploit when Free Reloads powerup is active
- Strange behaviour when deactivating save levers
- Spicy difficulty preference not saving
- Burst pistol trigger not animating
- Powerup effect staying after returning to HQ
P.S. You may need to restart Steam for changes to take place. Please report any issues to the forums. You can always roll back to an older version in the BETAS tab under right-clicking COMPOUND and selecting Properties. Thank you for playing COMPOUND!
