Hey, hey people!
Here are some latest news about Smintheus I want to share with the public.
Release Date
Smintheus was planned to be released today. Unfortunately, mainly due to covid-19 world situation, it's not going to happen. The virus gave a big kick to the economical situation for lots of countries and in some way it affected developer as well. Game development was frozen and forced developer to focus on survival.
But not anymore!
Things got good again and opportunity to continue working on Smintheus finally arrived! The game should take one or two of additional months to be completed - expect release at the end of July. Most likely it will be released with 5 out of 7 episodes. Other two episodes will be added in a form of updates. Right now, game already provides nearly 10 hours of gameplay.
Quacktale Sewers
Even though project was frozen because of reasons, some little portion of time was still dedicated to development. It brought a new episode which consists of 8 levels - Quacktale sewers.
it's a sewerage system built on top of old ruins below underground. Despite the harsh conditions, many mouse folk found their home here. In the eyes of local dwellers, sewerage system of the Quacktale city is a great, well-hidden place isolated from the dangers of outer world, best suited for smaller creatures like they are. Perfect choice for a home, isn't it? Well, the world of Smintheus is not perfect and soon the folk will learn it the hard way...
Players will have opportunity to use new custom gadget. There will be shops that offers these new gadgets for sale as well other useful items. Puzzles will be more challenging and put the player into the situation where a combination of gadget planning and monster manipulation will be required to solve the challenge.
The Rogue
A new enemy type will be introduced as well - The Rogue. This shady character can disarm your traps and place his own. He will also throw knives at you and dodge your bullets. They are good, but you're better: the best way to beat this guy is to outsmart him.
Camera
A new major feature is added to the game - the almighty camera! Yes, that camera that is present in almost every game. It's, of course, an optional feature which you can disable in option menu or just toggle it off by pressing a button. As a result, It gives a great sense of motion and game feels more alive. Definitely a level up for a game.
That's it. Thank you for your read!
Stay safe and stay tuned for more :)
Best Regards,
Henry
