As promised, we are focused on our community feedback. Between collecting player feedback, sorting out numerous bug reports and other launch issues, it is safe to say that none of us had much sleep last night. Patch 0.1.3 fixes many of the issues that were reported over the past several days and especially those reported in the last 24 hours. Without extensive feedback it would have taken us a lot longer to track down and isolate the cause of many of these problems. This is exactly the communication that we’ve wanted.
One of the most common problems for many new players was server lag and server list updating. In order to improve server performance and shorten update times, our main server was moved to a new data center in UK. In addition, the player cap on several servers was increased from 30 to 60 so we can test new server performance.
The 0.1.3 patch also address a number of bugs, like not being able to warp with a module attached, sliding out of ship after docking, asteroid collisions, etc. It also brings a number of improvements like better inventory tooltips and better UI synchronization. We have also added several tutorial logs to the starting location, they should give new players some additional information on what to do and how to act in the starting scene.
In addition to these improvements we will be releasing a number of short tutorial videos, similar to our Let’s Play Video 2, detailing controls and many things that you can do and how to do it. These videos should be available on our Steam forum page soon.
Once again, thank you very much for your support and keep sending us feedback, every bit of information helps us isolate the problems you might be experiencing and brings us one step closer to making Hellion a great game!
