Hi all,
Thank you for downloading Estranged and contributing to the project!
Over the course of last month, the existing content was fleshed out with a couple of more puzzles and tweaks, and the game made more robust in general. The game was also made darker, with the levels shifting to take place during the night time rather than the day.
In June and July I’d like to continue these content updates but also focus on something a lot of people have been asking for – weapons. For a long time the game has had a weapons system, but I have been hesitant to push out content using it because we don’t have an animator on the team to work on this kind of content. To bridge this gap I will be using some acquired assets, with the view of replacing them later.
Work will be done around the pacing of gunplay, and in the same style as Act I, the ammunition will be scarce. Estranged was never designed to be a first person shooter, rather a story driven adventure game with shooter elements. In the latest Steam update a test map has been added in the extras menu - the idea for this is a very simple arena for folks to test out weapons and enemies.
Thanks for playing, and we love to hear your thoughts! Watch this space for future updates.
Alan
