Here, we’ve prepared stories of legendary figures—tales that, until now, have only surfaced in whispers and scattered fragments of lore. Uncover the secrets of these Demonlords in Edania, each ruling over their own domain within the region. Meet Enslar, an apostle of the Church of Elion—the largest religious order in the world of Black Desert. Encounter Cartian, the first sorceress to grasp the true nature of the Black Spirit. And unravel the mystery of Rusalka, queen of the Merfolk and Corsair’s maternal ancestor. Discover the stories of the Demonlords and meet the five powerful rulers of Edania!
«Demonlord of Azureach»
Jordine Ducas (Former Grand Chamberlain of Serendia)
"Then I shall answer in kind—with all that I am."
He once served Serendia, but after a fateful incident, he ran off and joined the Shadow Knights, taking in the soul of Belmorn, the Monarch of Darkness.
Though the Adventurer kept him from falling entirely under Belmorn’s control, a mark was left behind. Hoping to erase it, he journeyed to the Mountain of Eternal Winter in search of Ynix’s Flame. But when he finally found it, the whispers from the flame turned him against the Adventurer, and he vanished without a trace.
«Demonlord of Amberwastes»
Enslar (The First Valkyrie)
"Justice in your mind, Elion in your heart, and the scales of your convictions... at the tip of the lancia!"
At the Holy College of Calpheon, a military school founded by the Church of Elion to train Valkyries, Enslar led the elite Valkyries.
But when the Church saw her Valkyries as a threat, they moved to wipe them out, planning to offer Enslar as a sacrifice to Kzarka. In the end, she managed to seal Kzarka away and slipped away.
«Demonlord of Emeraltides»
Rusalka (The First Mermaid and Mother of All Merfolk)
"No.... All such thoughts... are meaningless now."
Rusalka, the very first Mermaid and mother of all Merfolk refers to Humans as "two-legged beasts" and holds nothing but contempt for them. Rumor has it, she guards a mysterious treasure.
But whether any of this is true is anyone’s guess. Hardly anyone in the world of Black Desert has ever laid eyes on a Mermaid.
«Demonlord of Ebonshade»
Cartian (The First Sorceress)
"So come... Test me and witness the glory of this newfound power!"
Cartian was the very first sorceress who founded Tarif together with Allan Serbin.
Legend has it that during the war between Humans and Cyclops over territory, Cartian drove the Cyclops away with her scythe.
The famed "Book of Cartian," a sorceress’s bible of sorts, is still kept in Tarif. But the sorceress of today cannot handle the power sealed within its pages.
«Demonlord of Crimsonroot»
Caphras of Adùir (The Immortal Alchemist and the First Luthraghon)
"Only the worthy... have permission to stand before me."
Caphras is said to have studied Black Stones, trying to harness the Black Spirit’s power to stand against Hadum..
His journals are scattered all over the world of Black Desert, but the clues are so fragmented that no one can piece together his full story.
After he ventured to the Altar of Blood, there’s no sign or record of Caphras ever coming back.
