We just added support for exporting Sketchbox drawings to FBX. During testing we optimized for great Unity support, over the coming weeks we'll be improving the way exports look in other popular 3D tools.
To export, just open a sketch and click the “Export” button. This generates an FBX file in your C://Documents/Sketchbox/ folder.

In most tools you should be able to just drag and drop the exported file and have it work as expected. If you have any problems the following tips might help:
The export doesn’t contain any lights, in some tools you might need to add lights for objects to become visible
In some tools you’ll need to enable “backface culling”, otherwise 360 images will look wrong
Blender uses a different FBX version, so you’ll need to do a conversion. Follow these steps:
- Install Autodesk’s free FBX converter (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?siteID=123112&id=22694909)
- Drag the Sketchbox export into the “Source files” panel, and set the destination file type to FBX 2013. Check “embed media” and set the format to “Binary”, then click “Convert”.
- Import the converted file into Blender
In Sketchfab you’ll want to use the “Classic” (not “PBR”) renderer. Set any 360 image materials to use single-sided face rendering.
Thanks!
