On the feature side, pillaging armies will now encounter various levels of resistance from local forces. Usually just irregulars and militia, but sometimes mercenaries or professionals will arrive in time to fight the invaders. Desecration of shrines/temples now has repercussions on diplomacy and/or public order, with religious dispositions taken into account (a city which has a hostile attitude towards a certain religion will react positively, etc).
