There's a solar system to fly around, and I'd like some company in it
BLOKSTAR HERO is a solar system of arcade games, and you fly one shipthrough all of them. Warp out to a belt and it's a mining game -- shoot rockapart cube by cube, fill the hold, find the station that pays best for what youdug up. Drop into a warp lane and it's a tunnel shooter. Dock at a station andit's a workshop, where the money turns into a better ship. More of them are onthe way.
It's playable now, it's growing every week, and I'm opening a playtest --not to hunt for bugs in a finished game, but because it's a lot more fun tobuild this with people than at them.
What's out there today
- The belt. Mine asteroids, grab what falls out, watch what your holdis worth climb as you fill it.
- Warp lanes. A tunnel shooter between worlds. The trip is a game, nota loading screen.
- Stations. Fly onto the pad to dock, sell the haul, then spend it --hulls, thrusters, power cores, weapons, cargo pods, paint.
- The solar system. Real planets in their real places. Pick one on themap and go.
Your ship can't be destroyed, by the way. Take enough damage and systemsstart failing one by one until you're limping, but the run keeps going and youcan always get home.
What I'm actually after
Go and have fun with it, then come and tell me about it. Where you went, what you got up to, the bit you'd do again, the bit where you wandered off.And your hopes and dreams for it -- what you flew past and wished you couldland on, what your ship ought to be able to do, what would make you say "nowI have to try that". There's a discussion hub for exactly this, and I'll be inthe threads.
It's a build in progress and it looks like one in places. Some sounds aremissing, some art is a placeholder, the ships keep changing shape, and notevery planet has its own game yet. If that sounds like an odd time to show up-- it's the best time. Right now everything is still up for grabs.
