Hey there!
Things are really improving rapidly! Here we are a mere two weeks later with another update that's massively improving the quality of life aspects of the game. Between that, some new features and improvements, we are in full stride!
Here's what's new:
ENEMY CODEX
- Added an enemy codex to the tab screen! This now shows detailed information about each enemy, including health, Beacon DPS, and special properties.
- Enemy codex entries are unlocked upon killing enemies for the first time.
TOP-DOWN BUILDING
- Added a new top-down building mode! This allows you to place towers much more quickly, and with greater clarity.
- Added a new "build mode" button to the control settings menu. The default is mouse3.
- The top-down view can be scrolled by moving your cursor to the edge of the screen.
NEW AND IMPROVED
- The functionality of the automap, compass, and radar are now baseline.
- Removed the automap, compass, and radar from the item pool. They may be re-introduced later with different functionality.
- Replaced the automap and tab screen map graphics. They now much more closely match the rest of the UI's style.
- Dramatically improved the randomness of boss selections, item spawns, weapon effects, and more!
- Turrets now cost roughly half as much, but also deal half as much damage. More building!
- Scattershot turrets now deal bonus damage based on the status effects of the previous level.
- Added a discard changes display when trying to exit the lab's menus without applying your changes.
- Barricades can now be repaired directly by highlighting them with the crosshair, instead of by highlighting their adjacent tower base.
- The stats tab screen now displays "NEW!" indicators on the sides, depending on whether the codex or inventory screens have new entries.
- Renamed "Tower Usage" to "Tower Expenditure" on the round result screen.
- Removed certain player-specific graphics from the pre-cache graphics pool.
- Various minor optimizations.
- Increased ranger health from 60.0 to 70.0.
- Updated Starlyn's unlock graphic to match her new character description.
- Improved Rainforest skybox color.
- Reverted player shapes to capsules.
FIXES
- Fixed some level generation issues on the Rainforest.
- Fixed the skybox not being factored into reflections on certain weapons/objects.
- Fixed a stretching issue on the background of the result screen when at non-1080p resolutions.
- Turrets dealing area damage (such as pulse) no longer deal extra damage to enemies overlapping more than one tile.
- Fixed a range display issue when multiple turrets overlap the same tile.
- Made a fix to prevent scattershot turret tile ranges from stacking on top of each other.
- Fixed an issue causing tiles to be mistakenly grayed out on the auto map/tab screen map.
- Fixed some muddiness with the crosshairs.
- Fixed the Rune of Chameleon applying an effect to the tower generator when entering a new area.
Thanks everyone! We'll see you out there in the Exoverse!
