As the work week draws to a close, I thought it'd be great to check in on some of the progress happening behind on the scenes on the game.
The Next Free Content Drop
I'm very busy generating some new content for the next release. My hope is for the next content drop to include a new character, some new enemies and an Onslaught scenario or two.
One of the scenarios not yet reflected in Onslaught mode is the Outbreak scenario. There are some notable areas, such as the Garage and Primary Triage. I'm working to find good ways to adapt these zones for the Onslaught experience.
The Garage will be an interesting scenario. Since it's rectangular with no hallways, it creates a unique take on Onslaught where camping a hallway becomes more difficult. Will you be able to survive 30 waves or more with enemies closing in from all angles?
Primary Triage is also a unique zone. Featuring the small food court, a few patient rooms and the advanced lab section, it'll provide some tight hallways and open areas to battle the horde.
We'll have more to reveal about the new enemies and new character a little bit further down the road. The plan is to make all of this content free for everyone. Expect this content to drop in the next few weeks.
Console Port
I've also been hard at work on the Xbox One version of Outbreak. It's been a whirlwind of development as the game is now in a state where single player is accessible with the majority of features. Some major areas that will be under heavy development in the coming months is integrating Xbox services and getting multiplayer up and running.
The Xbox One version is still quite a ways off, but I remain optimistic we'll be seeing it sometime in 2017.
