Yesterday we saw the first round of playoffs with some very intense matches coming from SmashGaming, EggSeeMius, Team Toasty, Team Alces, Team Vegetable and Team MalaysiaEurope.
Check out the current match results and schedule on our Toornament site.
Team MalaysiaEurope has confirmed their position in the finals after a spectacular 2 - 0 victory against Team Toasty in the first semi-final match yesterday with a very confident-sounding post-game interview. This marks their second clean win, the first being a matchup against EggSeeMiiUs.
Interview portion begins at 05: 04: 34 - Warning Explicit Language
Hot on their heels is Canadian team Alces who have made it into the second semi-final round, easily with a similar 2 - 0 win against Vegetable Squad who put up a good fight but were outpaced by the very efficient Canadians.
Hot on the Canadian's trails into the semis are Japanese team RHS - Japanese Invaders+ who will be going up against team Smash GaminG. As they are the 7th participating team, they will be matched with the best performing losing team from the playoffs. Will they earn their spot in the semis or will SmashGaminG make a return to the game after their earlier loss to Team Toasty (2 - 1)?
Some match highlights include the M33 Battletank play by team MalaysiaEurope and aggressive early infantry play by Team Toasty. We also saw a very agile display of skills from King KongMing ( Team Toasty ) and Mixu (MalaysiaEurope) both magnificent displays of juggling commanding duties and fighting in the frontline. Team Alces has also debuted a new vehicle rush strategy that revolves around the use of the Overload Reactor tech unlock. This tournament is a real display of technical skill and strategic ingenuity and we can only wonder what new exciting plays will occur on Day 2.
