Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! As mentioned in the last announcement, here is the post holiday update. This one addresses quite a few things as follows...
-Starfields have been totally overhauled and are more realistic. Originally sectors could have up to 3000 stars. Now sectors can have anywhere between 5000 to 40,000 stars! Anything over 30,000 is considered a Star Region discovery and will give you exploration points for discovering it.
-Those annoying lines of stars that appeared from time to time has been fixed.
-Random star generation has greatly improved and stars are now more evenly distributed throughout sectors.
-Performance has been greatly improved due to the new star fields using a different creation method.
-A warp drive cool down period has been added. After jumping or aborting a jump ship will start a 10 second countdown. During this countdown players are unable to warp.
-Increased the chance of finding data chips in many areas.
-Greatly increased the chance of finding resources while mining rocks on a planet.
-Chance of discovering a planet in a sector is now less.
This is it for now. I am starting on the next update tomorrow and will move forward from there. I don't have an exact date when the next update will be released but a rough guess I would say either this weekend or next. I already have some cool things in mind. Have you told a friend about the game lately? ;) Cheers!
