Early bosses are no longer a brick wall
Looking at how you were all doing, nearly everyone was getting stuck on wave 10 — the first boss. That wasn't on you: running the numbers, that wave needed 25 seconds of perfect uninterrupted fire... and the wave lasts exactly 25 seconds. On a fresh account it was borderline impossible.
The wave 10 boss alone accounted for 44% of the entire wave's health. Early Tier 1 bosses are now considerably softer, and toughen up gradually until they're back to full strength around wave 40 — by which point you have the upgrades to answer with.
Tier 2 and beyond are unchanged. If you'd already made it there, it plays exactly as before.
Guided tutorial
A lot of you were dying, hitting Retry, and never leaving to the menu — which is where the money actually gets spent. One player put in two straight hours without spending a single coin.
Your first run now has a short tutorial covering the core loop: temporary upgrades during a run, and permanent upgrades outside it — the ones that make your next run go further. The coins for your first permanent upgrade are on the house, so you can actually feel the difference.
There's a second one when Modules unlock, with a free pull.
Already know how it works? One button skips it for good.
Thanks
All of this came from watching your runs, so keep telling me where you get stuck or what doesn't make sense. I read everything.
Got the playtest sitting in your library uninstalled? This is a good moment for it.
