The biggest addition in this update is a fully playable first-person cockpit. Alongside that, there's a new toolbelt system, a Signature Scanner, improved controls, and plenty of fixes based on your feedback.
Thanks to everyone who played the demo and reported bugs. It really helps!
Fly from the cockpit
Press V while piloting to switch to the cockpit view.
You now fly your ship from inside the cabin, complete with working dashboard displays showing your ship status, flight information, and navigation data. Combat, targeting, and warp lock-ons all work from the cockpit, and shield and hull indicators are projected onto the windshield while flying.
Improved flight controls
The default flight controls have been updated to feel more like piloting an aircraft. The mouse now controls pitch and roll, while A and D handle yaw.
Gamepad support has also been improved, and controller bindings can now be customized in the Settings menu.
Toolbelt and inventory overhaul
Your astronaut now carries tools directly instead of using invisible equipment.
New 6-slot toolbelt with hotkeys (1-6) and mouse wheel support.
New drag-and-drop inventory.
Toolbelt layout is saved with your game.
The mining laser is now a handheld tool that fires directly from its barrel.
New: Signature Scanner
A new scanner tool helps you locate buried signature deposits.
It periodically scans the area, points toward the nearest deposit, and displays the estimated distance. Once you're directly above it, it also shows how deep you need to dig.
Signature deposits now generate at random depths, making each search a little different.
Fixes and improvements
Improved cockpit window rendering and visibility.
Fixed planets disappearing from cockpit windows at certain angles.
Fixed station consoles opening when you weren't looking at them.
Fixed EVA repair laser aiming.
Improved parked ship collision.
Added new UI sound effects.
Improved held tool animations and aiming stability.
