Hey there Rogues,
Our first two week sprint since launch has finally come to a close, and we have quite a bit of new content added into the game! We went through all the feedback and what was widely requested was something to add a bit more depth and randomness to the gameplay, a way for your gameplay and stats to change in ways you may not expect (both good and bad). To that end, we have added Shrines to the game!
New Feature: Shrines
As you adventure through the dungeons, you will occasionally find rooms with one of seven types of Shrines. Activating them will grant you a buff, debuff, or random effect based on the type of Shrine and how lucky you are. Some Shrines are free to activate and others may cost you something important. The choice is yours whether to accept your fate or turn away!
We as a team feel that these Shrines fill a much needed gap in the variation of gameplay. Before when you’d enter a dungeon, you were directly testing your loadout against the dungeon itself with no variation throughout. It felt static and a bit repetitive at times. Now, the Shrines can completely flip your gameplay upside down (for good and for bad), and save runs that previously would have been lost. You may even find new playstyles that you didn’t even think were possible before.
Camera Angle Change
From the feedback we received, some players were having a difficult time getting an initial handle on controlling the character in combat. We realized after reviewing some options that the camera angle we chose was at a skew so that you actually moved faster in one direction than the other. We increased the angle so you should be able to better control the character from a visual standpoint, as well as have a better sense of maneuverability between enemies, walls, and projectiles.
For those of you who have been playing the game quite frequently, it will take you a few levels to get used to, but we know you will appreciate the new angle and the information it gives you.
