Minion Masters!
We’ve had a great friend event seeing plenty of players forge new friendships - and breaking them immediately after actually playing with their teammate.
This week we’re bringing you a new card as well as the long desired Team Battle Leaderboards, so you can see the top players in each mode. This puts Team Battles one step closer to getting out of Beta, but there’s still a ways to go before we can do that, so stay tuned for more features :)
NEW CARD - Flightless Dragons
In baby dragon world you play rough. Unfortunately, pissing off your big sister could make her take a bite out of your wing.
You've gotta wonder, if a dragon can't fly is it still a dragon, or just an angry fire-breathing lizard?
This new 4-mana card summons 2 Dragon Whelps, but their wings are injured so they can’t fly anymore.
Team Battle Leaderboards
- There are now leaderboards for both Solo queue Team Battle and Premade Team Battle
- Each leaderboard will show the individual rank of the top 20 players in the mode (similar to the normal leaderboard)
- Each leaderboard will show the last played deck the player won with in that specific mode
- Past season top 10 rankings are available for all three leaderboards.
Changelog
Balance
- Soul Stealer rescaled
- Attack speed reduced from 1.9 to 1.6 sec
- Attack speed reduction per stack reduced from 0.15 to 0.10 sec.
--- Developer comments ---
Despite the previous reduction to Soul Stealers cost, the card hasn’t seen much play because it simply was too hard to get any value out of unless played against a pure swarm deck. This change makes it easier to get him going but makes his total potential lower. Thus, he should be more versatile but less of a hard-counter to swarm strategies, while also maintaining the option for the enemy to remove him. - Assassin damage increased from 50 to 60
--- Developer comments ---
The Assassin quite simply wasn’t performing as well as we’d hoped. WIth this change wanted to emphasize the excitement of sneaking him to the enemy master or high value minion. This also helps him be a better defensive minion, which gives him slightly more versatility. - Hypnotize mana cost decreased from 5 to 4
--- Developer comments ---
As a very niche card, Hypnotize hasn’t seen as much play as we’d like. With a mana reduction, we’re hoping people can use it in more situations to turn fights around. - Scrat Horde mana cost decreased from 4 to 3
--- Developer comments ---
Scrat Horde is a card with a lot of potential, but also with a lot of efficient counters. In fact, most cards in the game will trade very well with it, and most importantly, low cost spells can completely negate it. With that in mind we’re reducing the mana cost so the risk isn’t quite as great when playing the card. - Swarmer health increased from 30 to 35
--- Developer comments ---
Swarmers are currently a good damage card for dealing with large minions, but they fall behind their alternatives quickly because they die very easily to most other cards. A little health increase will help them fight other low cost minions better, and even survive slightly longer against some Masters.
