Coming Soon: The Forsaken Crypts Expansion

Millennia before your seemingly inexplicable arrival in the hallowed land of Ignus, an organization of ancient and powerful Wizards ruled the realm as unchallenged Kings. The kingdoms they ruled over were grandiose and massive. As a sign of loyalty by the common folk, enormous and elaborate Citadels were constructed to honor the benevolent a merciful rulers. Each of these Citadels were specifically tailored to their respective ruler’s needs and personal preferences.

These times have long since passed, and the Citadels have fallen into disrepair as their caretakers have declined into obscurity. Now overrun by savage monsters, twisted by centuries of exposure to the residual magic energy left in the Wizards’ absence, the formerly intricate and palatial fortresses have become safe havens for terrors the likes of which you have not yet encountered in your tenure as a student of the Arcane Arts.

The reason for the reemergence of these dungeons is unknown, but it is said that whoever can unravel their mystery and banish the monsters that haunt their halls will find glory and fortune of an unparalleled nature. Gear up, rally your allies, and keep your wits about you. Fortune and glory awaits only the strongest and most courageous!

Phoenix Spirit Citadel

The winding tunnels of this once pristine white marble palace have been ravaged by the passage of time. Extremely powerful Sprites – much larger in size than the typical specimens commonly found in Ignus – have left their mark by erecting massive statues and forging a tepid environment compatible with their mystic inclinations. Any Wizard brave enough to enter their domain should expect to be met with extreme resistance.

Those who make it deep into the heart of this dungeon, then claw their way back out to the resplendent main courtyard will find themselves face-to-face with a gruesome pair of powerful enemies. Two massive Divine Phoenixes lay dormant, waiting to destroy any man or beast with an eye to steal their precious treasures. Will you survive the encounter and recover the unique artifacts they guard with their lives?

Dragon’s Heart Citadel

Somewhere in the countless centuries between the end of the reign of the Wizard kings and your arrival here on Ignus, a massive volcanic disturbance shook the land and shattered the once beautiful stone city of the Dragon’s Heart Citadel. The city’s meticulous architecture has been fractured and collapsed, and the surrounding mountain vistas are now replaced by valleys of bubbling lava, jagged stones, and a host of migrant dragons drawn to the region’s endlessly simmering heat.

After thousands of years immersed in the hot, harsh environment, the dragons have become resilient beyond anything ever previously seen. One Dragon in particular has emerged as the alpha-drake; This enormous, armor-plated beast rules dominant over his brethren, guarding a hoard of exquisite artifacts recovered from before the great calamity that brought ruin to the Citadel.

Blood Soul Citadel

In contrast to the boiling inferno of the Dragon’s Heart Citadel, the Blood Soul Citadel saw a rapid change of environment in the opposite direction. The rustic fortress once enjoyed a temperate, comfortable climate, but is now uninhabitably frigid and encased in jagged ice. This shift, much like the one in the Dragon’s Heart Citadel, created an inviting habitat for all kinds of horrible creatures: Abominations, Deathweavers and various undead entities have swarmed to the icy retreat.

Unlike the Dragon’s Heart Citadel, which has a clear and reasonable explanation for its sudden shift in temperature, scholars cannot come to a clear agreement about why the Blood Soul Citadel so suddenly and so dramatically adopted its glacial climate. One of the many theories posits that an icy demonic presence has emerged deep in the bowels of the castle. Pray that this is not the case, dear Wizard, for a beast capable of such gross temporal manipulation must be of immense and unfathomable power.
