Hello Watchers,
This is our biggest update since launch, and a lot of it comes straight from your feedback. Thank you for every report, review and message. Keep them coming, we read everything.
A completely rebuilt tutorial
The old tour was 19 steps and skipped the most important parts of the game. The new one is 46 steps and actually teaches you how to play: selecting bodies, the full object panel (orbits, customization, starting civilizations), creating planets and stars from the inventory, the System Editor, navigation, god tools and more. It is interactive, you learn by doing.
Missed the tutorial or skipped it by accident? You can now bring it back anytime from Settings > Game > "Show tutorial at launch".
Age progression, reworked (community suggestion)
Civilizations no longer skip through entire ages by filling an invisible points bar. To enter a new age, a civilization must now research every technology of its current era, plus one key technology of the next one, Nuclear Physics to enter the Atomic Age, Advanced Propulsion to reach for the stars, and so on.
Buildings now require their actual technologies. No more metropolises rising without Iron Metallurgy, and no more nuclear plants without Nuclear Physics. Interstellar colonization must be earned through research as well. Ages finally feel like eras you live through, not a blur.
Wars actually happen now
Militant civilizations were talking tough and doing nothing. War decisions now properly weigh aggression, culture and ambition, so warmongering traits genuinely lead to war. Peaceful galaxies stay peaceful. Aggressive ones will not.
Favorites
Found a planet you love? There is now a star button on the body panel. Press F4 to open your favorites: sort by name, distance, type or size, filter, search, and fly back to any of them with one click, even across the galaxy.
System Editor fix (community report)
The habitable zone overlay now reflects the actual star you are looking at. Blue giants push the green zone far out, brown dwarfs pull it in close. Thanks to the player who reported this with side-by-side screenshots.
And more
New "Random Star" card in the inventory: spawns a star with realistic randomized class, mass, size and color, different every time
The object panel is now fully localized in all 11 languages
Tesseract controls now appear only on black holes, where they belong
Many smaller fixes and stability improvements under the hood
The next update is already deep in development, and it is a big one. See you out there.
