Hello universe shapers!
First of all, thank you. The launch day reports you sent were incredibly helpful, and this first patch fixes the most important ones less than 24 hours after release. Here is what changed:
Terrain and Mountains
- Mountain ranges are now much larger and bolder. You can read real massifs from orbit, with peaks reaching beyond 9 km.
- The razor sharp terrain walls and staircase cliffs some of you found are gone. Slopes are now continuous and climbable.
- Snow line recalibrated: high ranges are properly white, plains stay green.
- A rare generation bug that could leave whole regions treeless (and in the worst case crash the game) is fixed.
- The tree line now fades naturally instead of cutting off in a straight line, and trees return gradually around city edges.
DNA Editor
- Clicking a strand cell now places the base you selected, not the next one in a cycle.
- The DNA view no longer overflows upward when you scroll down.
Orbit Editor
- The orbit inclination editor is now available in the body panel under Motion. Adjust the tilt of any orbit with a slider, with presets for 0, 23, 45 and 90 degrees. Semi major axis, eccentricity and period are preserved exactly.
Planets and Maps
- Approaching a planet no longer causes the surface texture to jump or rotate. What you see from orbit is what you land on.
- Planet map fixes: markers no longer flicker while the map loads, data from a previously visited planet no longer leaks into the current one, and city scans run reliably when you return to a planet.
Other
- Updated forest ground textures and tree sprites.
- Updated panel translations across all 11 languages.
- Various stability improvements under the hood.
Keep the reports coming, they genuinely shape what gets fixed first. See you among the stars.
