Hi everyone!
I want to share some of the progress I’ve made on the game recently. Some weeks there isn’t much worth showing, while others are full of fixes, improvements, and noticeable progress. Game development is a complicated process, and you really can’t have one without the other.
This isn’t everything I’ve changed or added, but these are some of the things that came up most often in feedback about the demo.
Here’s what has been fixed or added recently:
The main menu now has a settings menu
The settings now work correctly both in-game and from the main menu
Added zoom to the right mouse button. It’s a mechanic you can find in many games in this genre, and I think it will make it easier to look closely at details in the environment
Added more light sources and made some of them slightly brighter. The game really did feel too dark in some places, so there should be a better balance now
Reduced the amount of blur. It now feels more natural, and a larger part of the screen stays in focus
I know that the biggest criticism of the demo was its length, so I’m doing my best to make sure the full game is at least an hour long, and I’m actively working on that right now.
At the same time, it’s important to me that this hour is packed with events and doesn’t feel stretched out or boring. There’s still a lot of work ahead, but every week I can see the game becoming better and closer to what I want it to be.
Thanks for waiting,
Tim
