The idea for Not My Son came from a scene I saw in a movie or TV show years ago. A man was meeting the child of his future wife, and everything seemed to be going well between them. But I remember thinking: what if the child was the real source of danger? What if he slowly started driving his stepfather insane?
I wrote the idea down and kept coming back to it. It felt like a fresh setup for a horror story and gave me a lot of room to explore themes like fear, rejection, and family relationships. Over time, I began developing the characters, their motivations, and the events behind the story, eventually turning that simple idea into Not My Son.
Over the past few months, I've been working on creating a tense and unsettling experience focused on atmosphere, exploration, and psychological horror. As you spend more time inside the house, you'll begin to notice increasingly strange events and uncover the truth behind the boy's behavior.
Not My Son is a story about fear, rejection, and the fragile bond between parent and child. The game aims to deliver a concentrated horror experience that can be completed in about an hour.
The announcement trailer is now available on YouTube, and I'd love to hear what you think about it.
I can't wait to show more in the coming weeks!
