Hey everyone!
BigScreen 0.5.2 is live on Steam.
Restart Steam to get the new build.
Changes:
- Oculus Audio SDK integration (also go to settings -> audio and turn on early reflections to improve the sound quality even more, but at some CPU cost)
- Introduced a small Vive controller tutorial (only shows up until you have completed it, go to settings -> input to turn on again)
- Added a "Gaze Mouse" experiment which lets you use your head to control your mouse cursor (turn on in settings -> input)
- Oculus Rift CV1 only: the default Windows playback device will automatically switch to the Rift headphones when starting BigScreen (so you can hear YouTube / Netflix etc without changing audio devices manually). It will change back when you exit BigScreen.
- You can hide your small screen again. The old chromecast logo has been replaced by a three-state toggle: 1. only your small screen, 2. both small screen and big screen, 3. only the big screen.
- Added right click to Oculus Remote instead of horizontal scroll. Click while looking at your screen to get control of the cursor and then click to the right on the dpad-thing to right click.
- Improved Vive scrolling when pointing at your desktop
- We now default to the SteamVR SDK if you don't open through Steam. This means Steam shortcuts will work for Vive users.
As always, happy to answer any questions and hear any feedback. Oh and get your ears ready for the shared audio alpha coming next week!
