[UPDATED] The first 48 hours on Steam

Hey guys,

my name is Tim, I am the developer of Qubicle and founder of Minddesk. Qubicle is out on Steam for two days now and I am very thankful for all the feedback you gave.
What really makes me happy is the fact that you seem to like my software and that some of you already started posting first models on the discussion boards. A big thank you to the community!

Furthermore I would like to thank you for your constructive feedback found in the reviews. It mostly adresses my decision to offer “Qubilce Voxel Editor” with the possibility to extend it with dlc.

Qubicle is available on the market for six years now and is used mostly by indie developers to make video games. Of course, they needed all the power and tools in the software to create beautiful designs for their games. But we also got a lot of requests, asking for an entry version at a lower price.

With the move offering Qubicle on Steam we wanted to give this possibility to those of you who are not game developers but just want a good and easy tool to create models in 3D.
At the same time our key interest is to still offer the full package to our steady customers - the indie developers.

To accomodate those two things we decided to offer with “Qubilce Voxel Editor” an entry version that includes all the basic stuff you need to get started. Like import and export possibilites, direct upload to sharing and 3d-printing platforms, modding helpers for voxel games and most important all coming updates and fixes of the editor. We provide detailed info under the “About This Software” section on the shop page.

I want to point out, that It was our main intention to offer Qubicle to a larger audience and not to to use dlc as a pricing strategy to generate maximum cash.

But your feedback showed me, that we have to be clearer in communicating these aspects. That is why we will implement the following improvements:

1. We will offfer a Qubicle Indie bundle for $75 (regular price without discount) at the earliest possible date that will include all available dlc and all future dlc coming to Qubicle 3.0

[UPDATE]
2. If you already own Qubicle Voxel Editor and want to upgrade to the Indie Bundle: we will provide a way to do that without paying more than if you would have ordered the Indie Edition in the first place
3. We will set-up a demo that will be fully usable for 10 days
4. Locked features are not shown in the basic application anymore

Not only in the last 6 years, also in the future I will take care of your feedback and your suggestions as it helps me improve Qubicle every day.

Cheers
Tim
